My work is often based on dreams in different shapes, and so is this work, the dream of one day having my own horse. As a young girl this was my biggest dream. Every Christmas I opened all my small wrapped presents, but I “knew” there would be a bigger present waiting.
Every year I was madly disappointed. The longing for this horse was enormous.
I collected horse items and pictures, I wrote my favourite horses names on my wall and I made lists on the horse’s best qualities; colour, friendliness, speed, all things I could think of.
The horse never became mine. All these things left marks in me; the feeling of this dream is still present.
My dream is sharedby millions of girls around the world. And when I talk about this dream I can see silly smiles spread on people’s faces and then I know they have hade the same dream. My interest for horses never died, I kept on riding and dreaming.
Many horses have passed my path along the years, but some made a much stronger impression, the memory of these horses makes me warm. The memories of the white Lusitano stallion I ones got acquainted with, he will always be with me.
The dream have turned in to memories, fond memories, all these images have been transformed to become jewellery, as simple as that.
